"It seems to me, that if there is a bad taste in your mouth...."

"...you spit it out. You don't constantly swallow it back"

So this is me spitting it out.  Last night I watched a movie that is commonly known as the 2005 Pride & Prejudice.  There is only one other movie that I have seen that made me think "What a complete waste of my time!"  Incidentally, that movie also starred Jena Malone.

The historical inaccuracies!!!  I mean they were so numerous and historical inaccuracies drive me crazy!  And the screen writing!!  All of the actors were very good......but the screen writing was (to talk like the Trolls from The Hobbit) 'WUBBISH'!!!  I mean like seriously!!!  They tried to fit Pride & Prejudice into 2 hours!!!!  I knew before I watched it that it was going to be awful, but ugh!!  Blah, blah, pluh!!  Yuck!   As my mom said, it felt more like 1790's American Frontier, then 1810's Regency England.

And the second proposal?!?!?!?  I know that some people think it far more romantic then the 1995 second proposal, but OH MY GOODNESS!!!!  THEY ARE WALKING AROUND HALF DRESSED!!!!  And the cheesy lines!!!  I thought that it couldn't get worse then the second proposal scene........and then we reached the very end.  Guys, I love mushy, gushy, melt-me-into-a-puddle-of-goo, romantic kissing, love scenes, but THAT?!?!??!?!?!   It was seriously vomit inducing!!!!  Pluh!!!  It was soooooo sick!!!!  Afterwards, I pulled up the Second Proposal and the Meeting at Pemberley from the REAL P&P to wash out the bad taste!!  Oh! it was glorious!  I was rather ridiculously rapturous over Colin and Jennifer, but it was 11:45 PM, so I had legit reason for being a nut!

I did laugh through a lot of it though because of how dumb I found it.  And I realized the Mr. Collins is too be Tabaqui the Jackal in the upcoming  The Jungle Book: Origins movie that I am very much looking forward to.  Also Rupert Friend resembled Orlando Bloom so much that I couldn't quite hate him, not that there was really anything of Wickham in it.  Mary was prettier then she should have been.  And the costumes?!?!?!  Caroline Bingley is wearing a NIGHTGOWN at the Netherfield Ball!!!

To those of you who are reading this and very much like.....well, what I watched last night, I apologize if this offends you and I am coming across as a snob.

To those of you who agrees with me.......COME COMMISERATE WITH ME!!!!!!!

Happy Spring......?

So I have been having fun doodling on our windows with dry erase markers.  When I looked outside this morning this is what I saw and I figured it was the perfect time to take pictures of my 'Happy Spring' doodles.

And here are a few random other pictures that I took the other evening.

Hello Everyone!

Hey Guys!!  I know i haven't posted anything in a while.  I just have kinda been busy....with a lovely little thing called SPRING CLEANING!!  Which is something that I do not like very much.  House cleaning is soooooo boring!!!  But, as I told someone earlier, it is unfortunately one of those things that if you don't do it, it just becomes a worse problem.  So what have I been doing besides the lovely cleaning?  Well I haven't actually been reading a lot, I have like seriously been reading The Hobbit for 2 weeks and normally I read it in 2 days if I am reading it to myself.  I have actually been working on writing a story.  It's just a fun one to amuse my little siblings.  I have also been wishing that it would be sunny outside instead of rainy and that we had enough people to play Ultimate Frisbee.

Also I made a Sea Slug cake for my brother's birthday.  Well it wasn't actually a cake, it was a Cinnamon Roll that we didn't cut into slices.  And it was amazingly delicious!!  We also decorated the center of the table in a Ocean theme....which was fun and a bit challenging!!  I will post pictures below.  So yeah, not a lot has been happening here and I will try to post more regularly.

The slug before it was baked.

The slug after it was baked.

The best shot I have of the whole thing.

And the slug in his habitat.
Enjoy!!

Inkling Explorations Link Up // March 2016

I am joining up with Heidi Peterson's Inkling Explorations this month.  It is my first time and I also read the subject wrong.  I thought that it said, 'A scene involving a post office in a film', but it really says, 'A scene involving a letter, package or post office in film'.  So, because of my mistake, I have been wracking my brains out trying to think of a 'post office' scene.  I finally thought of the scene from Emma 2009 when John Knightley and his boys met Jane Fairfax going to the Post Office in the rain.  Since I re-read the post, I have dozens of other options, but I think that I am still going to do that scene.

Emma 2009: Jane Fairfax in the Rain

So the three things I love the most about this scene.

 3. Henry and James Knightley.  They aren't very important, but I think that they are adorable and I very much enjoy the few scenes that they are in.  Sadly I wasn't able to find a picture of them from this particular scene.

Aren't they adorable?

I'm afraid I don't know which is which.

 2. John Knightley and his attitude towards Jane.  I find the portrayal of John Knightley in this version very intriguing.  John doesn't come into the story very much and in the more central moments of him in here he seem rather grumbly.  But when you get him alone with Emma or Knightley he is different.  I really like the John/Emma moments and I think that he purposely went in the other carriage to give Elton a chance to propose to Emma because he soooo could tell that Elton adored Emma.

 3. Jane Fairfax's devotion to Frank Churchill, although we all know he doesn't deserve it.  She daily goes to the post office rain or shine to send him a letter.  It is so sweet.

See!  And her bonnet is really pretty.  Oh and you can see a wee bit of the boys in the corner.

Thank you all for reading my blog.

Spring and Legos

Hey guys!!  So it is finally looking like Spring here.  I took a few pictures this morning that I thought I would share with all of you.

Isn't the coloring amazing?
I really, really like the above photo.  The gold of the stubble in the field, then the deep purpley-blue of the mountain, then the white snow all against the deep blue sky.  It is gorgeous!

And the Sandhill Cranes are back.

And this cat.  This is Turtle One, and she doesn't like having pictures taken of her.  She prefers rubbing her face all over yours.

Now for the Lego part.  My little brother wanted a Lego themed birthday, so I made him two Lego brick cakes and I did the decorations.

Behold the cakes.

I wanted to hang the copter from the ceiling and duct tape wasn't working, so we used string and thumbtacks.  20 hours later, it still hasn't fallen down.  And the banner that the Lego guy is holding says, 'Long Life' because 'Happy Birthday' was too boring.

Then he wanted Lego faces drawn on the balloons.  Here is the result.  Jill (who helped me) and I have determined that we can go into the party decoration business, and our slogan can be, "You name it, We make it."

This was my attempt at what Google called a 'goatee'.  Jill couldn't look at it without laughing.

I drew a mustache!!!  And it isn't lopsided!!

Drawing these ladies was the hardest part.

They look extremely comical without noses!!
And since we didn't have any helium, we had to resort to good ol' Duct tape.  I do love that stuff!!

At The Lunch Table

At the lunch table today, Mom was telling how someone had dropped their phone and it shattered the screen.

"He dropped it on the asphalt"...la-de-da-de-da....  I was struggling to keep a straight face because I had heard the 'ass's fault' joke before.

Then Joni (who hadn't been listening) pipped up, "Who's fault was it?"

Spiffy replies, "Nobody's.  He dropped it on the asphalt!"

It was too much.  I started choking with laughter and ran to the bathroom where I laughed until I cried.  It was almost as funny as the thought of someone standing in the arctic preaching a sermon to penguins.

Favorite Five

For the last few days I have been reading The Silmarillion for the first time.  So today's quotes are going to be five (I have closer to five hundred) of my favorite from it.

A sister they had, Galadriel, most beautiful of all the house of Finwë; her hair was lit with gold as though it had caught in a mesh the radiance of Laurelin.

Finrod was with Turgon, his friend; but Galadriel, the only woman of the Noldor to stand that day tall and valiant among the contending princes, was eager to be gone.  No oaths she swore, but the words of Fëanor concerning Middle-earth had kindled in her heart, for she yearned to see the wide unguarded lands and to rule there a realm of her own will.

The fire of their hearts was young, and led by Fingolfin and his sons, and by Finrod and Galadriel, they dared to pass into the bitterest North; and finding no other way they endured at last the terror of the Helcaraxë and the cruel hills of ice.

For Maedhros begged forgiveness for the desertion in Araman; and he waived his claim to kingship over all the Noldor, saying to Fingolfin: "If there lay no grievance between us, lord, still the kingship would rightly come to you, the eldest here of the house of Finwë, and not the least wise."

Melian said nothing to him at that time, but afterwards she said to Galadriel: "Now the world runs on swiftly to great tidings.  And one of Men, even of Bëor's house, shall indeed come, and the Girdle of Melian shall not restrain him, for doom greater than my power shall send him; and the songs that shall spring from that coming shall endure when all Middle-earth is changed."

Guys, this is a quite different Galadriel than the one that we know from Lord of the Rings.  This proud Noldorian princess is not the wise, gentle Lady of Lorien who we are used to!  And she was there from the beginning.  She lived with Thingol and Melian, she watched Lúthien grow up, she was there when Lúthien fell in love with a mortal, she saw the grief it caused Melian, she KNOWS!!!  There is a reason that Arwen was Galadriel's granddaughter, because she alone knows how is has to be.  And she isn't only Elrond's mother-in-law, she is also his cousin by marriage because Nimloth, Dior's wife, is a cousin of Celeborn's, so Aragorn is actually blood related to Celeborn.

So yeah, in case you can't tell, I am completely adoring this book and I can't go above a few chapters without telling Mel once again how amazing Tolkien was!!!!  And no it doesn't annoy her because she did the same thing to me when she was reading it!!!

Movies I Watched In February 2016

Titles with nothing before them I watched for the first time.

Titles with ** before them are re-watches.

Titles with # before them I watched with my little siblings.

Kate & Leopold

I thought that this movie would be kind of dumb, but it turned out to be fairly good.  Hugh Jackman is a brilliant actor and he sure can ride a horse!!

The Andy Griffith Show ~ 4 eps

I watched this while crazily knitting and crocheting for my niece.

** The Hunters

I completely adore this movie.  It has Robbie Amell in it and the way Robbie's character goes back and forth with his little brother is too funny!!!

Splash Splash Love

An adorable short drama that Mom, Mel and I watched for Valentine's Day.  You can read more about it HERE.

** You're Beautiful ~ ep 16

This drama is hilarious and I re-watched the last episode to relax after grocery shopping.  I had forgotten how funny Jeremy was, and how many times per episode Tae kyung screwed up his face to look like this:

** Leap Year

I couldn't resist watching this movie on Leap Day.  Even though the whole 'proposing to your boyfriend' tradition (imo) is like Declan says, "The stupidest thing I ever heard of!"

Healer ~ 11 eps

No, I didn't watch all 11 episodes right in a row.  Mom and Mel would never let me do that unless I was sick or injured or something.  This drama is killing me though!!  It has such amazing characters and acting and I just completely adore this drama!!!  And yes, MB, I know what you are thinking as you read this!!

So long folks!!  Thanks for reading!
