I have been 'exposed' to Beauty & the Beast all my life, though I have never seen Disney's animated version.
2. In what forms(book, movie, retelling) have you experienced Beauty and the Beast?
I have read several retellings of it, and I think I've seen a modern movie re-telling, I just can't think of what it might have been.
3. Who is your favorite character in Beauty and the Beast?
Belle. Her love and caring for those around her, well besides the dumbheads, is a beautiful example of how we should be.
4. What is your favorite song from the cartoon Beauty and the Beast?
Tale As Old As Time.
5. If you were turned into a piece of furniture what you want it to be?
I think a bed. ;)
6. What would your dream cast for Beauty and the Beast be? (This can be as elaborate or simple as you desire.)
Ummmm...well, the cast of the approaching live action film is pretty much my dream cast!
7. If your school were performing BatB which character would you want to play?
Belle. But i would be totally freaked out on stage, so you better leave me in the wardrobe department or give me a background non-speaking role.
8. Like Belle, do you enjoy reading books multiple times?
Absolutely!
9. If you were to write a retelling, what would you change?
Well, I currently have a retelling sort of going, and it's modern with no magic and closer tot he original then the Disney.
10. Are roses your favorite flowers?
No, they are my second favorite. Water-lilies are my favorite.
I had planned to go see the upcoming movie in theatre, but due to vehicle issues, I can't. However I do have a lovely friend who is planning to go,a nd she said she would tell me all I wanted to know.
My answer for the stage is essentially, "if I were a theatre person, but I'm not" also.
ReplyDeleteWhat retellings have you read? I'd like to try more.
:)
DeleteUmmmmm, I've read Beauty & the Beast by K.M. Shea, Rose of Prophecy by Hope Ann, and I know I've read more, I just can't think of them right now.
I like non-magical retellings! They can be so much fun to puzzle out, as a writer.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually counting on my own lovely friend to go see the new movie in the theater this weekend and tell me if I want to go see it or not.
Yes, they can be a great deal of fun!
DeleteWell, I've had two friends tell me what I want to know, so I'll be going to see it as soon as I can. If I can't see it in theatre, I'll just have to wait till it comes out on DVD.
That's sad you weren't able to see the movie ;/
ReplyDeleteBuuuuuuuuuuuuuttt....if you come down next month, we might be able to go see it after all! And tickets might be cheaper by then!
DeleteYou've never seen the cartoon? You should sometime! I prefer the live-action, but the cartoon is still fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you can't go. That's too bad. :/ Those tricky vehicle issues. ;)
Thanks for filling out the tag! :)
I know, I know, I know! I really need to see it and I was hoping to watch it on my half birthday before going to see the live-action, but the library didn't have it. :(
DeleteYeah, but if a friend comes to spend the weekend next month, I might be able to still. Fingers crossed!
You're welcome.
A bed! Yes, I could so totally be one! ;D
