Lady Dragon, Tela Du: Cover Reveal!

This is a day that I have been eagerly waiting for!  I know, it's not actually released, so I can't read it, but it is at least one step closer to being released!

I have several things to share before the cover though.

First off, a picture from Pinterest that Kendra found inspirational and the comment she attached.

"Even though these girls should be dressed in medieval clothing, I do like the death stare they’re giving each other. "

I asked Kendra, Petra and Amber each a question.  Here are the questions and answers.

For Kendra: What was the most challenging part of writing LDTD?
Oh ... ooh. Do you mean just the final draft, or the whole ten and a half years that I've been working on this project? I think the biggest challenge was figuring out how the story was supposed to be told and what it was truly about. It took me so many tries, and the story never really clicked until I decided to include Amber's POV
For Petra: What is your favorite childhood memory?
Exploring our house with my siblings and Reuben and his siblings before Syliva and Richard disappeared and everyone forgot about them. We have a huge house that was built before the Great Depression. While it has managed to stay in the family the whole time, it was an orphanage for a long time. But it is huge and awesome for exploring.
For Amber: Have you ever regretted the decisions you made that made you into the Lady Dragon?
I have often wondered what decisions I could have made that would have prevented the dragons from rebelling, but I honestly don't think there was anything I could have done.
Now a snippet!  I love snippets!!
“Amber’s life has been unnaturally long,” Rintaya continued. “But she cannot die of normal causes, nor can just anyone kill her. Only the Tela Du has been given that ability, and as you are the Tela Du, that means you.”

“I really hate to break it to you this way, but I have no experience with killing, especially not women who are six thousand years old and who look just like me. This queen can turn into a dragon. How is this in any way fair?”

“I would say that this is a once in a lifetime experience,” said Rintaya. “I do understand your concerns, child, and be assured that I’m not trying to brush them aside, but you must understand our plight. Amber is not our true queen, though she masquerades as such, and she oppresses us terribly. How is that in any way fair?”

“Does she not provide free health care?” asked Petra, which brought a snort of laughter from Reuben.

“No, she doesn’t, nor any sort of health care at all.” Rintaya shook her head.

   And NOW..........
Two girls with one face
Two girls with twisted fate
One in purple, one in red
One shall speak the other's death
Who shall win their final war?
Lady Dragon or Tela Du?

Amber, the Lady Dragon, has been promised a fifty-year reign over Rizkaland and nothing can stop her from claiming it. But when you've lived six thousand years, fifty is such a pitiful number. Only one person can keep her from making this reign permanent - the Tela Du, a girl who shall share Amber's face.

The last thing Petra wants is a magical world interrupting her plans for a normal life, let alone an ultimate battle against the Lady Dragon with only one prophesied survivor. She has her childhood best friend, Reuben, at her side, but she's not sure if he's more of a help or a hindrance right now. Though she'd much prefer to just return home and forget about this whole crazy affair, things change when she discovers that the world has surprising connections to her own family - including her sister who disappeared without a trace two years before. Still, Rizkaland can't possibly expect her to risk her very life, can it?
Aren't these amazing?!  This is so exciting!!  It's going to be a fantastic story!!  Below are info links and be sure to check out Kendra's blog!

  2. Thank you so much for taking part in the reveal. You know, an early chance to read LDTD is part of the ebook prize ... so the more you comment the better your odds of winning...

  3. I'm super intrigued by the story! The snippet was fun - loved the joke about the health care, lol. Also the synopsis did a great job of revealing the story, without being too wordy, and yet piquing my interest! :D :D
