The Liebster Tag x 2

I was tagged by Morgan LuaAnn (she tagged anyone who had eaten ice cream in the last week) and Olivia.
 Morgan's Questions
1. Do you usually cry over the deaths or misfortunes of fictional characters in books and movies? Or are you "not a crier"?
Yes.  I have tears running down my face during 3/4 of each LOTR movie.  But a lot of those are happy/squealy/this-is-so-sweet-and-amazing-and-brilliant tears.  But I never actually sob, it's just tears running down my face.

"For Frodo."  And the tears in his eyes.

2. Is there a popular TV show or a movie that you just CAN'T bring yourself to like, in spite of everyone's good opinions of it?
Not that I can think of off the top of my head.  Wait actually, I could kind of apply this question to When Calls the Heart.  There are a lot of things that annoy me in it, and I have only seen the first 3 episodes.

3. Do you have a garden? If so, what sort of things do you grow in it? Is it a vegetable or flower garden?
We have quite a few gardens.  Mostly flower, but we have one vegetable.  I take care of the Rhubarb garden.

4. With the approach of oncoming Winter, do you find yourself excited for the change of season, or is your mindset closer to: " *sigh* Oh boy. Here it comes. Winter. AGAIN."?

Each and every snowfall turns me into a five-year-old again!  So does Christmas.  Actually, most of Winter turns me into a five-year-old!  The only time that I wish for Summer, is when I am cleaning up the snow or wet clothing that my 6 younger siblings tracked in!!

5. What is the last book you read? How would you rate it out of five stars?
Song of the Sword by Hope Ann.  Five out of five.

6. Do you collect anything? How many/much do you own?
Well besides books?  ;)  Candles.  About 4 I think.  I really want carved candles.

7. If you could invite one (and ONLY ONE) fictional character to dinner, who would it be?
Lord Rupert Alistair from These Old Shades and Devil's Cub by Georgette Heyer.  I would be laughing so much, that I wouldn't be able to eat anything.

8. What book is nearest to you at this very moment?
  Paper Crowns by Mirriam Neal

9. Since Halloween is coming up soon, do you usually participate in the celebrations? If so, what did you dress up as last year?
I don't participate.  But if I did, I would wear something like this.

10. How would you describe your fashion style?

11. Have you ever met a famous person? Who was it?
  Contemporary Christian artist Josh Wilson.

Olivia's Questions
1.) Tell us four names (if you don't know the answer to any, just tell the ones you do know): one that your parents would have given you if you were the opposite gender, one they considered once they knew your gender, one you would choose if you got to choose your own name, and one you would NOT like to have.
If I was a boy, I was supposed to be 'Jacob Benjamin'.  They didn't know my gender until I was born, but my older sister Melody wanted to name me 'Gabriel Mary' if I was a girl.  I would have liked to be named, 'Eowyn Naomi'.  I would not like to be named is 'Annabelle/Annabella'.

2.) If you were to adapt one of your favorite stories, what story would it be and how would you tell it? (movie, musical, webseries, play, book, etc?)
Ooooooo.  Hard choice.  Actually, it isn't.  I would like to see Georgette Heyer's These Old Shades made into a movie with Benedict Cumberbatch as the Duke of Avon, Johnny Depp as Lord Rupert Alistair and that's all that I have right now!

3.) Tell us four of your favorite words.
  Malarkey.  55million.  Eeeejit!  Wowo!

4.) What is a life lesson you have learned in the past year?
Well there hasn't really been one besides the one that I have been learning all my life.  Life isn't fair, and you have to let God be in control.

5.) Who is your favorite secondary character in a book you've read recently?
Andrinian in Hope Ann's Song of the Sword.
6.) What are five of the books on your TBR list right now?
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
  Venetia by Georgette Heyer
An Infamous Army by Georgette Heyer
The Great Roxhythe by Georgette Heyer
In the Heart of the Rockies by G.A. Henty

7.) Tell us one talent/skill you have, and one you'd like to develop.
One that I have?  Good cooking.  One that I would like to develop?  Speaking/reading Gaelic.

8.) What's the best joke you've heard recently? (Awful puns are highly acceptable!)

9.) Share a quote from the book you're currently reading.
He turned to Strider.  "Where have you been, my friend?  Why weren't you at the feast?  The Lady Arwen was there."  And my sister exclaimed, "Bilbo is the biggest Aragorn/Arwen shipper!"

10.) What song is stuck in your head right now? (Or just share one that's been bouncing around recently if you don't have one right now.)

11.) What do you want your life to be like when you're a little old lady?  )
Well I hope that I am living comfortably among those I love after living a useful life.

  1. Wow, you're sister was right! It actually made me laugh out loud--Bilbo DOES ship Aragorn and Arwen XD

  2. OH MY GOSH, SNOW, YES. Winter is amazing - it's definitely my favorite season.
If I were a boy I would have been Nicholas, I was almost called Isabelle, I'd love to be named Rowena/Rowan, and I'd hate to be Debora.
I would absolutely ADORE for the Silmarillion to be turned into a TV series.
MALARKEY. I CRY. I also love melliorism, kettle, and confetti.
I want to read Tales of Mystery and Terror by Edgar Allan Poe, It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini, The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner, Prince Lestat by Anne Rice, and A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab.

    1. :)
My sister was slightly disappointed when mom told her that I couldn't be Gabriel Mary.......because Gabriel, is a boys name!! I like Debora. I know someone named that.
I am hesitant about anyone trying to do the Sil. I don't know if anyone, even Peter Jackson, could do it justice.
I just finished reading Redwall by Brian Jacques and A Wrinkle In Time by Madelaine L'Engle
